Yellowstone National Park is still full of visitors enjoying the summer sun, relishing these final weeks of the season. However, the first snowfall is poised to blanket the park in white within just a few months. Winter is nearly here, and we want to offer you a special way to welcome it.

Yellowstone Forever Institute winter programs will open for registration to the general public on Aug. 22. From wildlife programs to snowshoeing and skiing adventures to a class about Lakota Winter Stories and Skills, there is something for everyone to enjoy this coming winter.

Exclusive early registration for supporters opens today. Sign up for a Yellowstone Forever Institute winter program now! Register now.

The Lakota Winter Stories and Skills program is one of the highlights of our winter each year. You’ll learn about Lakota oral traditions, use natural ingredients to fend off cold, and prepare traditional soups and stews. It’s always a wonderful time.

Other programs that people always enjoy include The Intelligence of Animals, interpreting the way animals move and vocalize to uncover insights about their inner lives; Birds of Winter, an ornithology adventure visiting a variety of habitats; and many more.

But we keep groups rather small so every experience can be personalized and unique – which means they fill up very quickly. And we’re excited to report that you can now register for your program and lodging together online.
