We are thrilled to announce that Kelvy Bird, artist and internationally recognized “scribe”, will be our next guest speaker for the end-of-year December episode of our interactive online Dialogue series, hosted by Otto Scharmer. Their conversation will inquire into the potential of visuals to represent, and be part of, the shifts we experience in social fields.
Episode #7 of DoTS (Dialogues on Transforming Society & Self) on the topic of “Generative Scribing: On the Power of Social Arts” will take place on:

About Kelvy Bird
Kelvy Bird is an artist and internationally recognized “scribe”. She translates conversations (in meetings, conferences, and classrooms) into large drawings that aid with reflection and decision-making. As a co-founder of the Presencing Institute, Kelvy has helped shape many of the global community offerings, including the MIT edX course “u.lab: Leading From the Emerging Future” and the Systems Scribing Lab. In 2016, she co-edited the anthology “Drawn Together through Visual Practice” and in 2018 authored “Generative Scribing: A Social Art of the 21st Century”. Kelvy leads PI’s Visual Presencing development, delivering workshops that deepen and expand capacity for seeing and sensing the emerging future. Long-standing clients have included: Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University, The World Economic Forum with The Value Web, as well as Fortune 500 and local community organizations alike. An artist by training, Kelvy received her BFA in painting and BA in Art History from Cornell University. She lives in Somerville, MA.
