Looking for a way to play Love This Place Serve The Earth Week in your community?

Why don’t you get involved with this Flashmob raising awareness of Climate Change & Compassion for Planet Earth action is needed now around the world! Compassion Games and Seattle, Washington 350.org Chapter is teaming up to bring this wonderful way to share you care for Planet Earth through DANCE!

Right now, people read the news and get depressed or wonder if they can really make a difference in global issues like climate change. If no action is taken, what’s predictable is people feeling guilty then too busy to do anything about it, and they do nothing. What’s possible with a flash mob for climate change is to engage citizens in a fun, light way that not only brings awareness but inspires a call to action.

Here are the simple steps to organize this flashmob with your community:

1. To sign up to play Love This Place Serve The Earth Week Coopetition with a Team (suggestion to make the name of your team the location you are on the planet) [HERE]  this gets you signed up as an individual, then a screen pops up with red box to “Sign up You Team”, click on the box and you will need to fill out a brief form about your team, then the form will ask to confirm your email, go to your email and click confirm when you get an email from Compassion Games.

2. You will then in the next 24 hours receive a welcome email that looks like this: http://bit.ly/1LRUWZC With all sorts of great resources to get a Team rallying up for Earth Week.

3. Begin to gather a group of like minded caring individuals that want to be apart of this Flashmob with you. You can invite them to play Love This Place with you. You can send them the videos below to practice the dance routine alone or gather group together for a practice or two. Then your ready!

4. It could be helpful to also make a Facebook event for a practice and also for performance to get people interested to join. The bigger the group the more fun and powerful it will be for you and your audience.  You will still surprise the audience.  Here is an example of Seattle, WA Team Facebook Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/172298319809319/ Your welcome to also use the picture too:)

5. When picking a public location it is always best to ask the location owners for permission first. Have a loud music speaker system so all can hear the music. Another suggestion is to contact your local already happening Earth Day Events to see if you could do the flashmob there. Public Parks and City Centers where there lots of people are great spaces!

6. After you have completed your incredible flashmob or Flashmobs report your expereince on the Global Compassion Report Map: https://crowdsource.storymaps.esri.com/stories/compassion-report The deadline for all reports will be April 28th! You can add videos and pictures in your reports and share with the world!
