What is the World Interfaith Harmony Week Coopetition?

The World Interfaith Harmony Week Coopetition is a 7 day global challenge to promote acts of peace, collaboration and tolerancebetween people of all faith, spiritual, and humanistic traditions. Beginning on February 1st and going through February 7th, individuals and teams will use the spirit of coopetition to inspire acts collaborative acts of service to give back to their communities and strengthen mutual respect, understanding, and harmony between people of all backgrounds.

The Harmony Week Coopetition is an incredible opportunity for any organization, group, congregation, place of worship or interfaith community to play in the Games in the spirit of a growing global unity and respect for all members of the human family. By using the innate desire of playfulness that exists within us all, the competitive altruism of the Games inspire and catalyze people to strive together for the greater good of compassion and service for others, ourselves, and the world.

Just under a month later, on October 20, 2010, it was unanimously adopted by the UN and henceforth the first week of February will be observed as a World Interfaith Harmony Week.
